Worship

According to the Westminster Catechism, one of the founding guidelines of the Presbyterian Church, the principle purpose of humanity is to glorify God and enjoy the Lord forever.  We gather in worship as the people of God, praising the Lord through music and prayer, and meet the Lord in scripture and the Word proclaimed.

Here at First Presbyterian we offer a blended worship service, bringing elements from both traditional and contemporary styles.  Our Pastor offers Scripture -based sermons to help us know more of God, and the Lord’s call and plan for us in our individual lives. The weekly message is enhanced by worship music from our music team, whose singers and instrumentalists provide anthems and lead congregational singing in pieces from traditional hymns, spirituals, choral anthems, and contemporary Christian music sources. The service also provides the opportunity to pray for the needs of the world which Jesus loved and for whom Jesus died.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of the month, and seasonally during Christmas and Easter.  The Sacrament of Baptism occurs throughout the year.  Contact the church office or Pastor to schedule baptism for your children or for yourself.
